During the first quarter of 2026, Labris continued to organize a variety of events for the LBTQ community, with the aim of strengthening mutual support, visibility and connection. These gatherings were designed in response to the needs identified within the community and provided an important space for exchange, socializing and building a sense of belonging.
In late January, we held another Lesbian Pub Quiz Night, bringing together a large number of participants in a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere. The quiz, created and hosted by Dina Bajrektarević, combined knowledge, humor and LBTQ themes, creating a space for fun, learning and connection.
In mid-February, the first speed dating event of the year was organized, attracting considerable interest from the community. In a safe and welcoming environment, participants had the opportunity to meet new people through short and fun conversations − whether potential partners, romantic interests or future friends. The event was well attended, and the many “matches” and positive reactions confirmed interest in this format, leading to plans for another event.
Rainbow Families also held gatherings in February and March, bringing parents and children together in a warm, supportive environment. These gatherings offered an opportunity to meet, exchange experiences and support one another, while the youngest participants built new friendships and a sense of belonging through play and creative activities. Moments filled with laughter, conversations and small gestures of care were particularly memorable, further strengthening the bonds within the community.
The series of events continued in April, when the Lesbian Pub Quiz returned once again, reaffirming that these formats are an important part of community life − spaces for meeting, exchange and good energy.
These events show the importance of safe, open spaces where LBTQ people can come together, connect, relax, and be themselves.
Labris will continue to develop and organize activities that strengthen the community and create spaces where no one has to feel alone.
These community events are part of the broader “Together for an Active Civil Society – ACT” program to strengthen civil society organizations, implemented by Civic Initiatives with support from the Government of Switzerland.
