Psychological Support That Understands Your Experience
Labris provides free psychological support to LBTQ women through a safe, confidential, and affirming space. Support is available both online and in person and is provided by professionals with experience in LBTQ-affirmative practice. We want conversations to happen in a space where you can speak freely about what you are going through, without fear of judgment, having your identity questioned, or pressure to make decisions you are not yet ready to make.
We provide particular support to women experiencing intimate partner violence, trauma and the consequences of violence, including situations involving control, blackmail, threats of being outed, or other forms of psychological abuse. An LBTQ-affirmative approach means respecting sexual orientation and gender identity, understanding the specific experiences of LBTQ women, and supporting you in making your own decisions without pressure.
If you are struggling, you do not need to know exactly how to explain what you are feeling or have a “clear plan” before reaching out. You can contact us if you are unsure whether what you are experiencing is violence, if you want to better understand your experience, or if you simply need a safe space to talk. The support is there to empower you, not to make decisions for you.
